Ariel & Caleb's

STORY

A celebration above the Aegean at El Viento

Ariel and Caleb’s wedding felt like one of those rare days where everything moved at exactly the right pace. Perched above the cliffs of Santorini at El Viento, their celebration unfolded against a backdrop of whitewashed architecture, endless blue horizons, and the soft summer breeze drifting in from the Aegean Sea.

From the very beginning, the atmosphere felt effortless. Guests gathered beneath the Greek sun, conversations flowed easily between old friends and new faces, and every corner of the venue seemed to glow as daylight slowly gave way to the golden hues of sunset. What made the day so memorable wasn't just the setting, though it was undeniably breathtaking. It was the feeling that surrounded it.

Ariel and Caleb created a celebration that felt deeply personal. Nothing felt rushed, overproduced, or overly choreographed. Instead, the day was built around connection, laughter, and the simple joy of bringing the people they love together in one extraordinary place.

As the evening unfolded, glasses were raised, stories were shared, and the dance floor filled beneath the Santorini sky. One moment naturally gave way to the next, creating the kind of atmosphere that invites everyone to be fully present. And somehow, that made every detail feel even more meaningful. It wasn't about creating a perfect day. It was about creating a feeling.

One filled with warmth, celebration, and the kind of memories that linger long after the last song has played and the island lights begin to fade into the distance.

The morning of — quiet moments at Vedema

Ariel’s wedding morning began at Vedema. Long before the celebrations at El Viento would begin, there was a sense of calm that settled naturally over the entire morning.

Surrounded by her two closest friends, she spent those early hours moving through the day with ease. The atmosphere felt light and unhurried, filled with laughter, familiar conversations, and the quiet excitement that comes with knowing something extraordinary is just around the corner. Sunlight poured through the windows, illuminating the room as final preparations slowly came together. Hair and makeup unfolded alongside stories, shared memories, and the kind of conversations that only happen between lifelong friends. Every moment felt genuine, untouched by any sense of rush or expectation.

There was a simplicity to it all that made the morning feel especially memorable. A coffee enjoyed between appointments. A glance out across the Santorini landscape. The final details of the dress carefully arranged before everything would begin. Small moments that might seem ordinary, yet somehow carried so much meaning.

Throughout it all, Ariel remained completely present. She moved through the morning with a quiet confidence, embracing every part of the experience while staying grounded in the people surrounding her. There was excitement, of course, but also an unmistakable sense of peace, a feeling that this day was exactly where she was meant to be. Before the vows, before the celebrations, and before the sun began to set over the caldera, there was this. A slow morning at Vedema, shared with her closest friends, and the anticipation of everything still to come.

Caleb’s morning — anticipation in Emporio

Caleb spent the morning in Emporio at Katerina Villas, surrounded by his two closest friends and the kind of easy atmosphere that only comes from being with people who know you best. The morning unfolded slowly. Sunlight filled the villa, coffee cups appeared and disappeared throughout the rooms, and conversations drifted effortlessly between stories from years ago and excitement for everything still to come. There was no sense of rushing from one moment to the next. Instead, the hours seemed to settle into their own rhythm, allowing everyone to fully enjoy the anticipation of the day ahead. Between final preparations and quiet moments outside overlooking the village, Caleb carried a calm confidence that set the tone for the entire morning. He laughed easily, took in the surroundings, and seemed determined to enjoy every part of the experience rather than rush through it.

We spent part of the morning capturing those natural in-between moments that often end up meaning the most. Adjusting his jacket, sharing a joke with his friends, stepping out into the Santorini sun for a moment of stillness before the celebrations began. Nothing felt forced. Every moment simply unfolded as it was. What stood out most, though, was the excitement shared between the three of them. There was a genuine sense that everyone understood how significant the day was. It appeared in the quiet smiles, the exchanged glances, and the moments of laughter that seemed to fill every corner of the villa. The anticipation grew steadily throughout the morning, not as nervous energy, but as excitement for what was waiting just ahead.

And beneath all of it was one simple thought. In just a few hours, Caleb would finally see Ariel. Everything else was simply leading him there.

The ceremony — above the caldera, surrounded by love

Before the ceremony at El Viento, Ariel and Caleb shared a quiet moment together at Vedema. High above the hotel, on one of Santorini's rooftops overlooking the island, they saw each other for the first time that day. There was something uniquely Greek about the setting. Whitewashed walls, endless blue skies, and panoramic views stretching across the island created a backdrop that felt almost surreal. Yet despite the beauty surrounding them, neither seemed focused on the view for very long. For a few minutes, it was just the two of them. The anticipation of the day melted away as they exchanged smiles, held each other close, and took in the reality of what was about to happen. It was one of those rare moments that felt both intimate and monumental at the same time, offering a chance to pause before the celebrations truly began.

Later, at El Viento, guests gathered overlooking the Aegean Sea as the afternoon sun cast its warm light across the ceremony space. The atmosphere felt relaxed and deeply emotional all at once. Friends and family settled into their seats, conversations softened, and a sense of anticipation gradually filled the air. When the ceremony began, everything seemed to slow down. With the sea stretching endlessly behind them and the iconic Santorini landscape surrounding every corner of the venue, Ariel and Caleb stood together and shared vows that felt entirely their own. Honest, personal, and filled with emotion, their words brought laughter, tears, and countless smiles from everyone gathered there. Throughout the ceremony, it was impossible not to notice the way they looked at one another. There was a quiet confidence between them, a feeling of familiarity and partnership that spoke just as clearly as the vows themselves. As the ceremony came to a close and they were finally pronounced husband and wife, the celebration that followed felt less like the beginning of something new and more like the continuation of a story already deeply rooted in love, friendship, and shared adventure. And standing above the caldera, surrounded by the people who mattered most, there could hardly have been a more fitting place for that next chapter to begin.

The couple session — golden light above the Aegean

We spent time with Ariel and Caleb twice throughout the day, and each session felt like its own chapter within the celebration.

The first took place shortly after the ceremony, as guests settled into cocktail hour and the energy of the afternoon shifted into something more relaxed. With the excitement of saying "I do" still lingering, we wandered through El Viento together, capturing those first moments as newlyweds. Part of the session unfolded around the beautifully styled dinner area before guests had fully taken their seats. Every detail had been carefully curated, elegant tables dressed with florals and candlelight, layered textures, and sweeping views over the caldera beyond. There was a sense of anticipation in the air, as though the evening was waiting to begin. Against that backdrop, Ariel and Caleb moved effortlessly together, sharing quiet smiles, laughter, and the kind of natural connection that never needs direction.

Later, as the sun began its descent over Santorini, we slipped away once more. By then, the atmosphere had transformed completely. The island was bathed in warm golden light, and Ariel had changed into a traditional Thai dress, a beautiful tribute to her heritage and a deeply personal addition to the day. The change brought a new feeling to the session, one that felt both elegant and meaningful, blending family history with the unique setting of Santorini. As the sky softened into shades of gold and amber, we explored the grounds around El Viento, allowing the evening to unfold naturally around them. The light seemed to linger a little longer than expected, illuminating the white architecture and reflecting softly across the sea below. Some of the most beautiful photographs came from those in-between seconds. A glance exchanged without words. A hand reaching for the other. The kind of moments that often pass unnoticed in real time, yet somehow become the ones that hold the most meaning later.

With the sun disappearing beyond the horizon and the celebration waiting below, it felt like the perfect ending to a day spent surrounded by beauty, family, and the people who mattered most.

The dance floor — the celebration everyone wanted to stay in

As dinner came to an end and the evening settled over El Viento, the energy shifted once again. The golden light had disappeared beyond the caldera, the candles flickered across the terrace, and everyone gathered around the dance floor knowing the night was only just beginning. Ariel and Caleb shared their first dance beneath the Santorini sky, surrounded by the people who had traveled from all over the world to celebrate with them. It was one of those moments that seemed to slow time for a little while, allowing everyone to simply watch, smile, and take it all in. And then, almost as if on cue, fireworks illuminated the sky above the terrace. The cheers that followed could probably be heard across the island. From that moment onward, the celebration took on a life of its own.

The dance floor filled instantly and never really emptied again. Friends, family, and guests of every generation moved together beneath the lights, creating the kind of atmosphere that can't be planned, only felt. What made the evening so unforgettable was how completely everyone embraced it. One moment, guests were singing at the top of their lungs to Beyoncé, arms wrapped around each other as if they had known one another forever. The next, someone was attempting a Michael Jackson dance move while a crowd gathered around to cheer them on. Children were being spun through the air, friends were lifting one another onto their shoulders, and every corner of the terrace seemed to hold its own version of the celebration.

Ariel and Caleb were right at the center of it all. Neither of them spent much time standing still. They danced, laughed, jumped alongside their friends, and fully immersed themselves in every second of the evening. Their energy seemed to spread through the entire crowd, pulling everyone onto the dance floor and making it impossible to stay on the sidelines for long. As the night continued, groups gathered together on the terrace, cigars were lit, stories were shared, and every song seemed to become everyone's favorite song at once. There was something wonderfully unfiltered about it all. Just people celebrating wholeheartedly. By the end of the night, nobody seemed interested in checking the time. The music was still playing, the dance floor was still full, and laughter continued to echo across the cliffs overlooking the Aegean Sea. And standing there at El Viento, surrounded by friends, family, and a celebration that somehow felt both elegant and completely carefree, it was easy to understand why nobody wanted the night to end.

Motion, as it felt

Some moments were too beautiful to stand still. The wind moving through Santorini. The sound of laughter drifting across the terrace. A hand reaching for another without thinking. Friends singing every word. Fireworks illuminating the sky above the caldera. From quiet glances to crowded dance floors, Ariel and Caleb's day was filled with movement, emotion, and the people who mattered most. This short film captures more than what happened. It captures what it felt like to be there.
