A Welcome Party by the Sea in Portocolom
The festivities began the evening before the wedding with a welcome party at HBC, a seafront restaurant overlooking the harbour in Portocolom. Surrounded by the Mediterranean, guests had the chance to reconnect, enjoy the coastal atmosphere, and start celebrating together before the main event at Villa Valens the following day.
From heartfelt conversations to a lively evening by the water, the welcome party set the tone for the celebrations ahead. We captured the atmosphere in both photographs and film, and took to the skies with our DJI Mavic 4 Pro to capture the breathtaking views of Portocolom harbour from above. For us, it was also the beginning of an unexpected creative challenge, as we had originally been booked to film the wedding alone.
The Wedding at Villa Valens, Mallorca
We started the wedding day at Villa Valens with Robyn, who was getting ready surrounded by her bridesmaids and her mum. There was a real buzz of excitement in the room as everyone got ready for the day ahead. Between the finishing touches, conversations, and little moments shared with the people closest to her, the morning had that special mix of anticipation and emotion that makes wedding preparations so meaningful.
One of the moments Robyn was looking forward to most was her first look with her dad, followed by the first look with Antonio. These were two very different but equally meaningful moments: first, sharing the anticipation of the day with her father, and then seeing Antonio for the first time before the ceremony. We wanted to capture the genuine reactions, the expressions, and everything happening in between, without interrupting the experience or making the moments feel staged.
As a comedian with a strong presence on Instagram and TikTok, Robyn also wanted to document the celebration through social media content. Alongside the wedding film and photography, there was plenty of content to create throughout the day, from behind-the-scenes moments during the preparations to spontaneous reactions and short-form clips that captured the atmosphere as it unfolded. This added another layer to our coverage and meant staying alert to moments that could work beautifully both as part of the larger wedding story and as individual pieces of social content.
We love that kind of variety, especially when it allows us to tell the story from different perspectives. At the same time, capturing the morning meant balancing the planned moments with the unexpected ones, making sure we documented the atmosphere without taking Robyn away from the experience itself.
For us, the wedding morning was only the beginning of a day that would turn out to be very different from what we had originally planned.
From the First Looks to an Unexpected Turn
After the emotional first looks, we continued filming Robyn and Antonio’s wedding at Villa Valens, capturing the ceremony from FIVE different perspectives, including breathtaking aerial footage with our DJI Mavic 4 Pro drone. We had put a tremendous amount of thought and energy into our filming approach, carefully planning how to capture the ceremony from multiple angles and create a film that would bring the experience back to life. There is an incredible creative freedom in having both of us focus exclusively on filmmaking. We can fully immerse ourselves in the process, anticipate moments as they unfold, and concentrate on every detail, from the overall atmosphere to the smallest emotional reactions.
But just after the ceremony, our role changed completely. Robyn asked us to step in as photographers alongside the original photography team and take over 100% of the creative direction for the photography as well. She felt more comfortable having us guide the visual approach and capture the rest of the celebration in our own style, alongside our film coverage.
For us, this meant switching gears in the middle of the wedding. We had prepared to work as a dedicated two-person film team, with a carefully planned approach to capturing the day from multiple perspectives. Suddenly, we had to divide our attention between photography and filmmaking while taking full creative responsibility for both. It was a challenge we hadn’t anticipated, especially after investing so much energy in creating a comprehensive film coverage, but one that pushed us to rely on our teamwork, instincts, and ability to adapt under pressure.
A Night Full of Energy, Culture, and Unforgettable Moments
As the evening moved into dinner and the party, the energy only grew. Robyn and Antonio’s American and Spanish roots came together in a celebration that kept the entire room on the dance floor. True to her nickname, Donut Queen, Robyn skipped the traditional wedding cake in favour of an impressive donut tower. Even their beloved dog, Munchkin had a place in the celebration, with its name appearing on several personal accessories throughout the day.
One of the highlights was the traditional Jewish chair dance, with Robyn and Antonio lifted above the crowd as their guests danced around them. The atmosphere was electric, and DJ Fausto Cantante kept the party going with an incredible set. As the night came to a close, Piano Man was the perfect final song, a meaningful choice inspired by Antonio’s nickname and a song they both love.
We loved every minute of this wedding. Beyond the incredible celebration itself, it became a valuable experience for us as creatives. Having to adapt so quickly, take on full creative direction for the photography, and balance several responsibilities at once challenged us in the best possible way. It reminded us how much teamwork, trust, and quick thinking matter when the unexpected happens. And in the end, we left Mallorca with not only an unforgettable story to tell, but also a stronger sense of what we can achieve together.
